About my Genealogy
I have over 4300 names in my family file, mostly from the Reeser side but also quite a lot of names from both sides of John's family. His grandfather, Rex Reeves' mother was Alice Boggs. The information I have about this family came from "The Merging of the Boggs-Myers Families" written by Marjorie Parham Hailey, 1989. On the other side, John's grandmother, Theo Belle Nix's 1st cousin, Cora Estes Jester, lent me a book about Theo Belle's mother's family. I returned the book and regrettably can not remember and did not document the name of the book or author (I've learned a lot since then). It was a very good book, most of which I have entered into my family file under William Littlefield. The beginnings of my family tree research came from work my father compiled by hand over several years. He actually had to sit down and hand write all of this stuff! And mail letters by snailmail and wait for responses. Incredible! I have had quite a bit of help with my Reeser side from "cousins" whom I have found or have found me on the internet, namely Marshall McCoy, who had a wealth of info about the Pennsylvania Reesers. My Reesers begin with John Reeser (Rieser) who emigrated to PA on the "Adventure" with Ulrich Rieser (8 Apr. 1709 - 9 Sept. 1784) who resided in Lower Milford twp. Lehigh Co. PA. Other possible brothers are John who came on "Queen Elizabeth" in 1738 and Philip who came on "Loyal Judith", 1739. John was probably born in Huttwill, Canton Bern, Switzerland and died in Bern twp., Berks County PA. John was my 7th great-grandfather! My direct line goes like this: John Reeser 1690-1765, John Reeser 1725-?, William Reeser 1764-1845, Daniel Reeser 1799-1877, Daniel Warner Reeser 1838-1915, William Richard Reeser 1862-1945, Joseph Wheeler Reeser 1899-1981 and my father Chester Lee Reeser 1930-1979. What I really need help with is my mother's family. Her father was Hosia Clyde Bradshaw and mother Ivey Lee Gilley. I have very little info on her family and will be devoting most of my research time on them soon. My Family Tree
