Herd Reduction Sale 

The herd is CAE, CL, TB & Brucellosis free. The most recent herd inspection was done by Dr. Kevin Hertel on June 5, 2008 with the purpose of obtaining a health certificate for travel to the Calhan, Co. Quad show.  Although the entire herd was not included in the certificate, they were all inspected by the veterinarian and the New Mexico Livestock Inspector.  Please click on the names to the left for full pedigrees.

This is a picture of Photo Op as a kid.  I will try to get an updated one this week.  She freshened with a very nice, well attached mammery.  She has a good medial suspensory ligament with plumb, well placed teats.  Her rear ankles bowed slightly while she was heavily pregnant and I am currently trying to improve that.  I have given her a copper bolus and will be giving her some BoSe as soon as I receive it.

This is an old picture of Grace.  She is now a very growthy 3 month old, ready to wean kid.  I expect her to be just as correct as her dam, Princess and her half-sisters, Diamond and Monaco who can be seen above.

Tullahasse is a growthy kid who was large at birth and has not slowed down.  She is the largest kid in the pen and ready to be weaned.  She is a very eye catching, shiny black with a white belt and poll and solid black ears.

Prism was dam raised and is a bit skittish but wants to be friendly.  She should gentle right down in a environment where she can be more the center of attention than she is here.  This is not a good picture, but she is also a very eye catching black doe.

Phantom and Shadow are two of my favorite kids.  Phantom was 1 time Jr. Reserve Champion at the Calhan, Co. show I recently attended.  They both have a bit too much ear control for my taste but other than that, are very correct kids.  Both are wide and level over the topline with very correct feet and legs.

There is a $50.00 deposit required for kids offered for sale.  You will be notified when your kid is born and have ten business days to make a final purchase decision and send full payment.  If full payment has not been received within ten days of notification of birth the kid will be offered to the next person interested.  I reserve the right to select herd replacements before filling purchase orders.  For animals not picked up at our farm, we can arrange delivery via airfreight from Lubbock International Airport but I will have to ask for $25 to cover transport expenses.  All shipping expenses and health paper expenses will be the buyers responsibility. 

At the time you send payment, please include the name, complete address, zip code, phone number, and ADGA I.D. number of the person(s) whose name(s) will appear on the Registration Certificate.  Please make check payable to Dessie Nix.  If your choice is not available I will refund your deposit.
